About Tiegerpoort HOA
Tiegerpoort HOA is the home owners association for the Tierpoort smallholding area. It exists to run the gates that keep the area's livestock safely in, help the community assist with road upkeep, and give plot owners a shared place to coordinate — not to control who may enter.
What the HOA does
Runs the gates
The HOA's main focus: funding and operating the security gates that keep the area's livestock safely inside, plus the after-hours control room. Tierpoort itself stays open to anyone — the gates and the Fluss app are about convenience for members, not about restricting entry.
Assists with road upkeep
Road maintenance is formally a municipal responsibility, not the HOA's — but the road fund lets the community assist with community-funded projects so the roads don't fall into disrepair while waiting on the municipality, funded by member levies and open contributions from anyone, member or not.
Coordinates the community
Announcements, WhatsApp groups, a document library and a business directory of resident-run businesses all live in the member portal.
How it's run
Tiegerpoort HOA is a voluntary association — membership is not a title-deed condition, and a plot owner may join or resign at any time. It is run by a committee of member volunteers, responsible for setting the levy, deciding which gates and community road projects get attention next, and approving membership applications.
How it's funded
Monthly member levies pay for the gates, the control room and day-to-day running costs. The road fund is separate and topped up by both member levies and once-off or monthly contributions from anyone. Business directory listings carry a small fee for non-members.

You can already get into Tierpoort without joining — the day gate is open to everyone, and the control room lets anyone in after dark. Membership is what turns that into opening the gates from your phone, at any hour, for everyone who lives on your plot.
